Hello, my name is Leslie Chandler. I am a student at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, in Lafayette, LA. I am majoring in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications option. I plan to graduate December 1999.

I am presently working for CSC as a technician. I work in their telecommunications department, working on hubs, switches, the PBX and phone and network connections in the building offices.

I also worked for BellSouth last summer. In my intern with BellSouth, I mainly worked outside as a Service Technician. There I worked with buried service wire cut-overs, which is when a contractor is called in to bury a phone cable, and then the tech would hook the wire to the customer's equipment and to the pedestal which contained the phone company's connections.

At USL, I have been involved in a number of activities. One of the most personally stimulating organizations has been IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. I have been a member for the past 3 years, and I was USL's Student Branch Chair for the 1998-1999 school year. I have also been involved in USL's Student Government Association.

I also have an informational web page about telecommunications devices. The informational web page was an assignment for my technical writing class (ENGL 365), just as this page is an assignment in my information systems class (BSAT 303).
